Marko Šarić je docent s Odsjeku za povijest Filozofskog fakulteta u Zagrebu. Dobar dio svoje 26-godišnje znanstvene karijere Šarić je posvetio istraživanju regionalne povijesti jugoistočne Europe i Sredozemlja u ranom novom vijeku (od 1500. do 1800.), s naglaskom na povijest vlaških društava dinarskog kulturno-povijesnog prostora, među koje spadaju i Bunjevci.

Na tu temu izdao je desetke znanstvenih radova, a uskoro će mu biti tiskana knjiga ‘Vlasi na Tromeđi. Suživot u sukobima u graničnim društvima i kulturama Morlakije (16.-17. stoljeće)‘, koja se dotiče i bunjevačkog fenomena. U razgovoru s novinarom Tportala objasnio je kako je njihovo ishodišno područje Hercegovina te rekao da još nije jasno kako su dobili svoje narodno ime

- Legendu da su dobili ime po rijeci Buni navodi već u drugoj polovici 18. stoljeća mletački prosvjetitelj Alberto Fortis u svom dijelu ‘Put po Dalmaciji. Istu tu legendu spominju krajem 18. stoljeća na području Bačke, odnosno Subotice, svećenici koji su živjeli među Bunjevcima. Međutim historiografski je još uvijek otvoreno pitanje kako i gdje je nastao naziv Bunjevci. Istočno od Neretve, na području Bune, među vlaškim katunima čini se da nema bunjevačkih. Opet, ako su zaista dobili ime po toj maloj rijeci, a njezin tok ima svega sedam, osam kilometara, možda je to bila simbolična oznaka da dolaze iz Hercegovine. Izvor Bune je pod starim gradom Blagajem, prijestolnicom velikaške obitelji Kosače koja je vladala Hercegovinom - objašnjava Šarić.

U nastavku pojašnjava kako je nemoguće moderni nacionalni identitet poistovjećivati s identitetom naroda u predmodernom dobu.

- Kad je riječ o povijesti identiteta, ne možemo naše današnje razmišljanje i shvaćanje nacionalnog identiteta prekopirati u prošlost. Evo, sad smo u Zagrebu, glavnom gradu Hrvatske. Ali ovaj prostor sjeverozapadne Hrvatske u srednjem vijeku bila je Gornja Slavonija. Ni tu nema hrvatskog imena. Tek u 16. stoljeću integriraju se Hrvatska i Slavonija u Kraljevinu Hrvatsku, Dalmaciju i Slavoniju. U 17. stoljeću na ovom području hrvatsko ime polako potiskuje slavonsko, a Slavonijom se tada naziva prostor koji su zauzeli Turci. Stalne su vam dinamike, kako migracijske, tako identitetske. O nekom nacionalnom identitetu ne možemo govoriti prije 19. stoljeća. Jedino je kod plemstva koje ima Sabor i upravlja županijama taj osjećaj političkog naroda bio prije razvijen. Kod običnog puka u predmoderno razdoblje bitan je uglavnom konfesionalni identitet - rekao je Šarić.

Nema sumnje da je doprinos Bunjevaca Hrvatskoj velik. Dapače, neki od najpoznatijih Hrvata bunjevačkog su podrijetla.

- Bunjevački element jako je puno dao kad je u pitanju moderna hrvatska povijest. Ne bih sad ulazio u to koliko dobrog, a koliko lošeg. Sigurno je tu najznačajniji Ante Starčević. Imate još čitav niz političkih vođa, među kojima je i ustaški poglavnik Ante Pavelić. Ali imate i Antuna Gustava Matoša, velikog književnika koji je sam za sebe rekao da je porijeklom Bunjevac, rođenjem Srijemac, a odgojem Zagrepčanin. Apsolutno je bunjevački prilog hrvatskoj povijesti, pogotovo u moderno doba, važan i neizostavan - zaključio je za Tportal Šarić.

Marko Šarić je docent s Odsjeku za povijest Filozofskog fakulteta u Zagrebu. Dobar dio svoje 26-godišnje znanstvene karijere Šarić je posvetio istraživanju regionalne povijesti jugoistočne Europe i Sredozemlja u ranom novom vijeku (od 1500. do 1800.), s naglaskom na povijest vlaških društava dinarskog kulturno-povijesnog prostora, među koje spadaju i Bunjevci.

Na tu temu izdao je desetke znanstvenih radova, a uskoro će mu biti tiskana knjiga ‘Vlasi na Tromeđi. Suživot u sukobima u graničnim društvima i kulturama Morlakije (16.-17. stoljeće)‘, koja se dotiče i bunjevačkog fenomena. U razgovoru s novinarom Tportala objasnio je kako je njihovo ishodišno područje Hercegovina te rekao da još nije jasno kako su dobili svoje narodno ime

Istu tu legendu spominju krajem 18. stoljeća na području Bačke, odnosno Subotice, svećenici koji su živjeli među Bunjevcima. Međutim historiografski je još uvijek otvoreno pitanje kako i gdje je nastao naziv Bunjevci. Istočno od Neretve, na području Bune, među vlaškim katunima čini se da nema bunjevačkih. Opet, ako su zaista dobili ime po toj maloj rijeci, a njezin tok ima svega sedam, osam kilometara, možda je to bila simbolična oznaka da dolaze iz Hercegovine. Izvor Bune je pod starim gradom Blagajem, prijestolnicom velikaške obitelji Kosače koja je vladala Hercegovinom - objašnjava Šarić.

U nastavku pojašnjava kako je nemoguće moderni nacionalni identitet poistovjećivati s identitetom naroda u predmodernom dobu.

- Kad je riječ o povijesti identiteta, ne možemo naše današnje razmišljanje i shvaćanje nacionalnog identiteta prekopirati u prošlost. Evo, sad smo u Zagrebu, glavnom gradu Hrvatske. Ali ovaj prostor sjeverozapadne Hrvatske u srednjem vijeku bila je Gornja Slavonija. Ni tu nema hrvatskog imena. Tek u 16. stoljeću integriraju se Hrvatska i Slavonija u Kraljevinu Hrvatsku, Dalmaciju i Slavoniju. U 17. stoljeću na ovom području hrvatsko ime polako potiskuje slavonsko, a Slavonijom se tada naziva prostor koji su zauzeli Turci. Stalne su vam dinamike, kako migracijske, tako identitetske. O nekom nacionalnom identitetu ne možemo govoriti prije 19. stoljeća. Jedino je kod plemstva koje ima Sabor i upravlja županijama taj osjećaj političkog naroda bio prije razvijen. Kod običnog puka u predmoderno razdoblje bitan je uglavnom konfesionalni identitet - rekao je Šarić.

Nema sumnje da je doprinos Bunjevaca Hrvatskoj velik. Dapače, neki od najpoznatijih Hrvata bunjevačkog su podrijetla.

- Bunjevački element jako je puno dao kad je u pitanju moderna hrvatska povijest. Ne bih sad ulazio u to koliko dobrog, a koliko lošeg. Sigurno je tu najznačajniji Ante Starčević. Imate još čitav niz političkih vođa, među kojima je i ustaški poglavnik Ante Pavelić. Ali imate i Antuna Gustava Matoša, velikog književnika koji je sam za sebe rekao da je porijeklom Bunjevac, rođenjem Srijemac, a odgojem Zagrepčanin. Apsolutno je bunjevački prilog hrvatskoj povijesti, pogotovo u moderno doba, važan i neizostavan - zaključio je za Tportal Šarić.

Marko Šarić je docent s Odsjeku za povijest Filozofskog fakulteta u Zagrebu. Dobar dio svoje 26-godišnje znanstvene karijere Šarić je posvetio istraživanju regionalne povijesti jugoistočne Europe i Sredozemlja u ranom novom vijeku (od 1500. do 1800.), s naglaskom na povijest vlaških društava dinarskog kulturno-povijesnog prostora, među koje spadaju i Bunjevci.

Na tu temu izdao je desetke znanstvenih radova, a uskoro će mu biti tiskana knjiga ‘Vlasi na Tromeđi. Suživot u sukobima u graničnim društvima i kulturama Morlakije (16.-17. stoljeće)‘, koja se dotiče i bunjevačkog fenomena. U razgovoru s novinarom Tportala objasnio je kako je njihovo ishodišno područje Hercegovina te rekao da još nije jasno kako su dobili svoje narodno ime
