Predsjednička kampanja Joea Bidena nastavit će koristiti TikTok, rekao je dužnosnik kampanje u srijedu, ubrzo nakon što je američki predsjednik potpisao zakon koji će zabraniti aplikaciju ako je kineski vlasnik ne proda.
Do odluke je došlo u vrijeme kada su brojni mladi i ljevičarski orijentirani birači, značajni dio korisničke baze TikToka, nezadovoljni time kako Biden upravlja ratom u Gazi, zbog čega su eskalirali prosvjedi na sveučilištima diljem zemlje.
"Fragmentirani medijski okoliš zahtijeva da se pojavimo i dođemo do birača tamo gdje oni jesu, uključujući internet. TikTok jedno je od brojnih mjesta na kojima želimo naš sadržaj predstaviti biračima", rekao je dužnosnik Bidenove kampanje koji je želio ostati anoniman.
Kampanja će koristiti "napredne sigurnosne mjere" za vrijeme korištenja aplikacije, rekao je dužnosnik. Vlada nije poslodavac osoblja Bidenove kampanje i oni se ne bave se pitanjima nacionalne sigurnosti, tako da im je dopušteno imati aplikaciju na svojim telefonima, rekli su ranije dužnosnici kampanje.
Profil Bidenove kampanje na TikToku, @bidenhq, objavio je gotovo 120 videa i ima više od 306.000 sljedbenika. Biden ondje redovito objavljuje video snimke, iako Bijela kuća kaže da TikTok izaziva "opravdanu zabrinutost za nacionalnu sigurnost."
TikTok se planira žaliti na zakon, a izvršni direktor tvrtke rekao je u srijedu da očekuje da će dobiti pravnu bitku i blokirati zakon.

Predsjednička kampanja Joea Bidena nastavit će koristiti TikTok, rekao je dužnosnik kampanje u srijedu, ubrzo nakon što je američki predsjednik potpisao zakon koji će zabraniti aplikaciju ako je kineski vlasnik ne proda.
Do odluke je došlo u vrijeme kada su brojni mladi i ljevičarski orijentirani birači, značajni dio korisničke baze TikToka, nezadovoljni time kako Biden upravlja ratom u Gazi, zbog čega su eskalirali prosvjedi na sveučilištima diljem zemlje.
"Fragmentirani medijski okoliš zahtijeva da se pojavimo i dođemo do birača tamo gdje oni jesu, uključujući internet. TikTok jedno je od brojnih mjesta na kojima želimo naš sadržaj predstaviti biračima", rekao je dužnosnik Bidenove kampanje koji je želio ostati anoniman.
Kampanja će koristiti "napredne sigurnosne mjere" za vrijeme korištenja aplikacije, rekao je dužnosnik. Vlada nije poslodavac osoblja Bidenove kampanje i oni se ne bave se pitanjima nacionalne sigurnosti, tako da im je dopušteno imati aplikaciju na svojim telefonima, rekli su ranije dužnosnici kampanje.

TikTok se planira žaliti na zakon, a izvršni direktor tvrtke rekao je u srijedu da očekuje da će dobiti pravnu bitku i blokirati zakon.
Četverogodišnja bitka za TikTok velika je bojišnica na polju interneta i tehnologije između Washingtona i Pekinga.
Novi zakon daje ByteDanceu, matičnoj kompaniji TikToka, devet mjeseci da proda aplikaciju ili će biti zabranjena u SAD-u.
