Na plaži Sakarun na Dugom otoku danas su pronađene još tri uginule glavate želve. Broj uginulih želvi pronađen na toj plaži nažalost se popeo na 15 jedinki te strogo zaštićene životinjske vrste.

Podsjetimo, na plaži Sakarun na Dugom otoku u veljači je pronađeno 12 uginulih glavatih želva (caretta caretta). To je objavio na svome facebooku građevinar Vedran Petešić iz Sali rekavši kako su neke kornjače bile polužive, a prizor je bio šokantan.

"Većina uginulih želvi bila je stara, što sam procijenio po njihovoj težini od 40-50 kilograma, ali bilo je i nekoliko manjih, odnosno mladih jedinki", izjavio je Petešić Hini.

Po riječima ravnatelja Javne ustanove za zaštitu prirode Zadarske županije Damira Perića, točan broj uginulih glavatih želvi nije poznat.

"Naši djelatnici, predvođeni stručnom voditeljicom Moranom Bačić, jutros su odmah otišli na teren, a prema prvim informacijama radi se o možda desetak uginulih kornjača", kazao je tada Perić.

Zasad se ne može utvrditi što se dogodilo i izazvalo ugibanje želvi, ali Perić misli da je vjerojatno je riječ o olujnom i orkanskom jugu koje je proteklih dana puhalo duž Jadrana. Nije rijetkost da upravo u takvim vremenskim uvjetima želve stradaju ili uginu.

"Nažalost, u zimskim se mjesecima to često događa. Kornjače prezimljuju na morskome dnu, eventualno ih može podići ribarska mreža. One se tada napola probude i u takvom stanju mogu udariti u obalu", rekao je.

Pronađene kornjače prevezene su u Zadar, u ovlaštenu veterinarsku ambulantu Marina Mirčete i pregledane prema protokolu koji postoji za morske životinje, odnosno strogo zaštićene vrste.

Dok se ne napravi obdukcija u Centru za oporavak morskih kornjača u Puli ili na Veterinarskom fakultetu u Zagrebu, neće se znati što je pravi uzrok uginuća glavatih želvi.

Protokol za dojavu i djelovanje u slučaju pronalaska uginulih, bolesnih ili ozlijeđenih strogo zaštićenih morskih životinja (morski sisavci, morske kornjače i hrskavične ribe) u funkciji je od 2010. godine.

Morske kornjače prepoznate su kao jedna od najugroženijih skupina na svijetu, sve vrste su uvrštene na Crveni popis Međunarodne udruge za očuvanje prirode i prirodnih bogatstava (IUCN) i pod strogom su zaštitom u svim zemljama Europske unije.

Na plaži Sakarun na Dugom otoku danas su pronađene još tri uginule glavate želve. Broj uginulih želvi pronađen na toj plaži nažalost se popeo na 15 jedinki te strogo zaštićene životinjske vrste.

Podsjetimo, na plaži Sakarun na Dugom otoku u veljači je pronađeno 12 uginulih glavatih želva (caretta caretta). To je objavio na svome facebooku građevinar Vedran Petešić iz Sali rekavši kako su neke kornjače bile polužive, a prizor je bio šokantan.

"Većina uginulih želvi bila je stara, što sam procijenio po njihovoj težini od 40-50 kilograma, ali bilo je i nekoliko manjih, odnosno mladih jedinki", izjavio je Petešić Hini.

Po riječima ravnatelja Javne ustanove za zaštitu prirode Zadarske županije Damira Perića, točan broj uginulih glavatih želvi nije poznat.

"Naši djelatnici, predvođeni stručnom voditeljicom Moranom Bačić, jutros su odmah otišli na teren, a prema prvim informacijama radi se o možda desetak uginulih kornjača", kazao je tada Perić.

Zasad se ne može utvrditi što se dogodilo i izazvalo ugibanje želvi, ali Perić misli da je vjerojatno je riječ o olujnom i orkanskom jugu koje je proteklih dana puhalo duž Jadrana. Nije rijetkost da upravo u takvim vremenskim uvjetima želve stradaju ili uginu.

"Nažalost, u zimskim se mjesecima to često događa. Kornjače prezimljuju na morskome dnu, eventualno ih može podići ribarska mreža. One se tada napola probude i u takvom stanju mogu udariti u obalu", rekao je.

Pronađene kornjače prevezene su u Zadar, u ovlaštenu veterinarsku ambulantu Marina Mirčete i pregledane prema protokolu koji postoji za morske životinje, odnosno strogo zaštićene vrste.

Dok se ne napravi obdukcija u Centru za oporavak morskih kornjača u Puli ili na Veterinarskom fakultetu u Zagrebu, neće se znati što je pravi uzrok uginuća glavatih želvi.

Protokol za dojavu i djelovanje u slučaju pronalaska uginulih, bolesnih ili ozlijeđenih strogo zaštićenih morskih životinja (morski sisavci, morske kornjače i hrskavične ribe) u funkciji je od 2010. godine.

Morske kornjače prepoznate su kao jedna od najugroženijih skupina na svijetu, sve vrste su uvrštene na Crveni popis Međunarodne udruge za očuvanje prirode i prirodnih bogatstava (IUCN) i pod strogom su zaštitom u svim zemljama Europske unije.
