Adio ”Foto Vjeko”!

Nakon što nas je 1. prosinca 2020. u 91. godini zauvijek napustio legendarni zadarski fotograf Vjekoslav Vjeko Surać, godinu dana kasnije zatvorio se i njegov kultni fotografski studio u Barakovićevoj ulici, koji je na tom istom mjestu radio punih 70 godina, od otvaranja 1951.!

Stakleni izlozi prekriveni su bijelim papirom na kojima velikim slovima piše „selimo se”. Visoka cijena najma nije se više mogla podnijeti, pogotovo nakon zadnje dvije godine pandemije korone. Nasljednici Vjeke Suraća, nakon nevjerojatnih 70 godina, moraju iseliti iz tog prostora i preseliti u neku drugu, manju i jeftiniju lokaciju. Kako doznajemo, ostat će na Poluotoku, i neće biti daleko od Trga, ali nikad više neće biti na 'svome' mjestu.

Što popularni ”Foto Vjeko” znači za Zadar, suvišno je i isticati. Nakon sedam desetljeća na istom mjestu, postao je gradski toponim, kao Kolona ili Četiri kantuna, dio urbanog identiteta, živi simbol duge i bogate zadarske zanatske tradicije. 

Tko će na njegovo mjesto doći, još se ne zna. Riječ je o prostoru u vlasništvu Grada Zadra kojeg je pokojni Surać imao prilike otkupiti, ali navodno nije htio. Šuška se da su za njega već zainteresirani neki ugostitelji, vlasnici restorana i kafića, a tko će na kraju useliti, saznat ćemo idućih mjeseci...

Adio ”Foto Vjeko”!

Nakon što nas je 1. prosinca 2020. u 91. godini zauvijek napustio legendarni zadarski fotograf Vjekoslav Vjeko Surać, godinu dana kasnije zatvorio se i njegov kultni fotografski studio u Barakovićevoj ulici, koji je na tom istom mjestu radio punih 70 godina, od otvaranja 1951.!

Stakleni izlozi prekriveni su bijelim papirom na kojima velikim slovima piše „selimo se”. Visoka cijena najma nije se više mogla podnijeti, pogotovo nakon zadnje dvije godine pandemije korone. Nasljednici Vjeke Suraća, nakon nevjerojatnih 70 godina, moraju iseliti iz tog prostora i preseliti u neku drugu, manju i jeftiniju lokaciju. Kako doznajemo, ostat će na Poluotoku, i neće biti daleko od Trga, ali nikad više neće biti na 'svome' mjestu.

Što popularni ”Foto Vjeko” znači za Zadar, suvišno je i isticati. Nakon sedam desetljeća na istom mjestu, postao je gradski toponim, kao Kolona ili Četiri kantuna, dio urbanog identiteta, živi simbol duge i bogate zadarske zanatske tradicije. 

Tko će na njegovo mjesto doći, još se ne zna. Riječ je o prostoru u vlasništvu Grada Zadra kojeg je pokojni Surać imao prilike otkupiti, ali navodno nije htio. Šuška se da su za njega već zainteresirani neki ugostitelji, vlasnici restorana i kafića, a tko će na kraju useliti, saznat ćemo idućih mjeseci...

Odlazi legendarni "Foto Vjeko": Nakon 70 godina rada na istom mjestu, cijena najma postala je previsoka! Tko će useliti u atraktivni gradski prostor?

Adio ”Foto Vjeko”!

Nakon što nas je 1. prosinca 2020. u 91. godini zauvijek napustio legendarni zadarski fotograf Vjekoslav Vjeko Surać, godinu dana kasnije zatvorio se i njegov kultni fotografski studio u Barakovićevoj ulici, koji je na tom istom mjestu radio punih 70 godina, od otvaranja 1951.!

Stakleni izlozi prekriveni su bijelim papirom na kojima velikim slovima piše „selimo se”. Visoka cijena najma nije se više mogla podnijeti, pogotovo nakon zadnje dvije godine pandemije korone. Nasljednici Vjeke Suraća, nakon nevjerojatnih 70 godina, moraju iseliti iz tog prostora i preseliti u neku drugu, manju i jeftiniju lokaciju. Kako doznajemo, ostat će na Poluotoku, i neće biti daleko od Trga, ali nikad više neće biti na 'svome' mjestu.

Što popularni ”Foto Vjeko” znači za Zadar, suvišno je i isticati. Nakon sedam desetljeća na istom mjestu, postao je gradski toponim, kao Kolona ili Četiri kantuna, dio urbanog identiteta, živi simbol duge i bogate zadarske zanatske tradicije. 

Tko će na njegovo mjesto doći, još se ne zna. Riječ je o prostoru u vlasništvu Grada Zadra kojeg je pokojni Surać imao prilike otkupiti, ali navodno nije htio. Šuška se da su za njega već zainteresirani neki ugostitelji, vlasnici restorana i kafića, a tko će na kraju useliti, saznat ćemo idućih mjeseci...
