Ispijanje više od triju šalica kave s kofeinom dnevno povezano je s boljom elastičnošću jetre, pokazali su rezultati velike studije koji su nedavno objavljeni u stručnome časopisu Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. 

Studija je vjerojatno dosad najsveobuhvatniji američki uvid u dobrobit konzumiranja kave kada je posrijedi zdravlje jetre. Analiza se temelji na podacima Ankete o ispitivanju zdravlja i prehrane na nacionalnoj razini (NHANES), u sklopu koje se od sudionika tražilo da odgovore na pitanja o svojim prehrambenim navikama. Ključno je to što je godine 2017. NHANES u istraživanje uključio i ​​elastografiju (FibroScan), ispitivanje elastičnosti jetre sudionika, ali ne zbog sumnje na moguće zdravstvene probleme s tim organom već u sklopu sveobuhvatne procjene.

Otprije se zna da se elastičnost jetre postupno smanjuje zbog fibroze i taloženja masti.

“U istraživanju provedenom 2017. i 2018. sudjelovalo je 4500 nasumice izabranih ispitanika kojima je napravljena elastografija (FibroScan). Sudionici istraživanja imali su 20 ili više godina, a prosjek je iznosio 48 godina. 73 posto ih je patilo od prekomjerne tjelesne težine, što je otprilike nacionalni prosjek", rekao je voditelj studije, dr. Elliot Tapper, docent gastroenterologije na Sveučilištu Michigan.

Znanstvenici nisu otkrili povezanost između konzumacije kave i masne jetre, no pronašli su vezu između konzumacije kave i njezine elastičnosti.

U osoba koje su ispijale više od tri šalice kave dnevno elastogram je bio bolji. No tako povoljno djelovanje kave s kofeinom na elastičnost jetre nije utvrđeno u osoba koje su konzumirale kavu bez kofeina, premda je jedna ranija britanska studija otkrila preventivan učinak obiju vrsta ovog napitka na razvoj kroničnih bolesti jetre.

Tapper kaže da novi podaci idu u prilog kliničarima koji pacijentima za održavanje elastičnosti jetre predlažu konzumaciju kave. "Mnogi hepatolozi širom svijeta svojim pacijentima preporučuju konzumaciju kave. Oni će bez sumnje biti zadovoljni rezultatima istraživanja."

Ranija studija koja se temelji na bazi podataka iz Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva također je pokazala da se konzumacija kave može povezati sa zaštitom od kroničnih bolesti jetre, no isto je vrijedilo i za kavu bez kofeina, rekao je dr. Nathan Davies, profesor biokemije na Institutu za zdravlje jetre i probavnog trakta na londonskom Sveučilišnom koledžu (UCL).

Rezultati obiju studija, američke i britanske, upućuju na pozitivan učinak ispijanja kave, no treba imati na umu da se bolesti jetre razvijaju godinama, čak i desetljećima, kazao je Davies.

"Upravo zbog toga, da biste održali jetru zdravom moj je savjet - smanjiti unos u organizam ugljikohidrata i alkohola, održavati poželjnu tjelesnu težinu i biti fizički aktivan, što će vjerojatno biti učinkovitije u sprečavanju nastanka i razvoja bolesti jetre od ispijanja dodatne šalice kave", savjetovao je dr. Davies.

"U svakom slučaju, pacijentima s povećanim rizikom od razvoja bolesti jetre koji trenutačno dnevno konzumiraju tri i više šalica kave bilo bi mudro s takvom praksom i nastaviti jer ta količina kave ipak uspijeva aktivno smanjiti njihove izglede kada je posrijedi razvoj težih bolesti."

Ispijanje više od triju šalica kave s kofeinom dnevno povezano je s boljom elastičnošću jetre, pokazali su rezultati velike studije koji su nedavno objavljeni u stručnome časopisu Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. 

Studija je vjerojatno dosad najsveobuhvatniji američki uvid u dobrobit konzumiranja kave kada je posrijedi zdravlje jetre. Analiza se temelji na podacima Ankete o ispitivanju zdravlja i prehrane na nacionalnoj razini (NHANES), u sklopu koje se od sudionika tražilo da odgovore na pitanja o svojim prehrambenim navikama. Ključno je to što je godine 2017. NHANES u istraživanje uključio i ​​elastografiju (FibroScan), ispitivanje elastičnosti jetre sudionika, ali ne zbog sumnje na moguće zdravstvene probleme s tim organom već u sklopu sveobuhvatne procjene.

Otprije se zna da se elastičnost jetre postupno smanjuje zbog fibroze i taloženja masti.

“U istraživanju provedenom 2017. i 2018. sudjelovalo je 4500 nasumice izabranih ispitanika kojima je napravljena elastografija (FibroScan). Sudionici istraživanja imali su 20 ili više godina, a prosjek je iznosio 48 godina. 73 posto ih je patilo od prekomjerne tjelesne težine, što je otprilike nacionalni prosjek", rekao je voditelj studije, dr. Elliot Tapper, docent gastroenterologije na Sveučilištu Michigan.

Znanstvenici nisu otkrili povezanost između konzumacije kave i masne jetre, no pronašli su vezu između konzumacije kave i njezine elastičnosti.

U osoba koje su ispijale više od tri šalice kave dnevno elastogram je bio bolji. No tako povoljno djelovanje kave s kofeinom na elastičnost jetre nije utvrđeno u osoba koje su konzumirale kavu bez kofeina, premda je jedna ranija britanska studija otkrila preventivan učinak obiju vrsta ovog napitka na razvoj kroničnih bolesti jetre.

Tapper kaže da novi podaci idu u prilog kliničarima koji pacijentima za održavanje elastičnosti jetre predlažu konzumaciju kave. "Mnogi hepatolozi širom svijeta svojim pacijentima preporučuju konzumaciju kave. Oni će bez sumnje biti zadovoljni rezultatima istraživanja."

Ranija studija koja se temelji na bazi podataka iz Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva također je pokazala da se konzumacija kave može povezati sa zaštitom od kroničnih bolesti jetre, no isto je vrijedilo i za kavu bez kofeina, rekao je dr. Nathan Davies, profesor biokemije na Institutu za zdravlje jetre i probavnog trakta na londonskom Sveučilišnom koledžu (UCL).

Rezultati obiju studija, američke i britanske, upućuju na pozitivan učinak ispijanja kave, no treba imati na umu da se bolesti jetre razvijaju godinama, čak i desetljećima, kazao je Davies.

"Upravo zbog toga, da biste održali jetru zdravom moj je savjet - smanjiti unos u organizam ugljikohidrata i alkohola, održavati poželjnu tjelesnu težinu i biti fizički aktivan, što će vjerojatno biti učinkovitije u sprečavanju nastanka i razvoja bolesti jetre od ispijanja dodatne šalice kave", savjetovao je dr. Davies.

"U svakom slučaju, pacijentima s povećanim rizikom od razvoja bolesti jetre koji trenutačno dnevno konzumiraju tri i više šalica kave bilo bi mudro s takvom praksom i nastaviti jer ta količina kave ipak uspijeva aktivno smanjiti njihove izglede kada je posrijedi razvoj težih bolesti."
