Prvi put da su u Hrvatskoj proglašena su područja za ptice koja se nalaze isključivo na moru, javlja Udruga Sunce.

Dio je to projekta "LIFE Artina – Mreža za očuvanje morskih ptica u Jadranskom moru" kojem je cilj bio identificirati ključna područja očuvanja značajna za ptice u Jadranskom moru, s naglaskom na sredozemnog galeba, kaukala i gregulu.

Važno je napomenuti da su sredozemni galeb i gregula vrste morskih ptica koje su globalno ugrožene i koje su na popisu ranjivih vrsta prema IUCN-u (Međunarodna udruga za zaštitu prirode (IUCN) koja uključuje vladine organizacije i civilno društvene organizacije). Ta područja obuhvaćaju važna staništa tijekom sezone gniježđenja (uglavnom korištena za hranjenje i odmor tijekom razdoblja kada se odgajaju ptići).

Upravo u tu svrhu za vrijeme trajanja projekta praćena su kretanja 40 kaukala, 40 gregula te 25 sredozemnih galebova uz pomoć GPS uređaja. Bolje razumijevanje njihova kretanja važno je za njihovu zaštitu, kako bismo bolje razumjeli koja područja koriste i s kojim prijetnjama se suočavaju. Označavanje ptica pomaže u boljem razumijevanju različitih aspekata ekologije vrste, poput mjesta gniježđenja, područja prehrane, mjesta za odmor, migracijskih ruta i zimovanja.

Tijekom istraživanja uočeno je da su neke jedinke sredozemnog galeba, koje su označene u lastovskom arhipelagu, migrirale na atlantsku obalu Maroka (oko 3000 kilometara udaljenu), dok su neke jedinke zabilježene i u Senegalu (preko 4000 km). Također, zabilježila su kretanja kaukala i gregula kako napuštaju područje Lastova kako bi se hranili u sjevernom Jadranu, blizu Istre.

Prikupljenim podacima putem praćenja GPS-om, prebrojavanjem gnijezda i praćenjem kretanja ptica morskim transektima, projekt LIFE Artina omogućio je proglašenje pet novih važnih područja za ptice i bioraznolikost (IBA) te proširenje granica dvaju postojećih područja. Ta potonja dva područja uključuju POP Pučinski otoci, koji obuhvaća područje oko otoka Visa, uključujući Biševo, Svetac (Sv. Andrija), Brusnik, Jabuka i Palagružu; i POP Lastovsko otočje, koje obuhvaća 46 otoka i otočića i okolno more, uključujući otok Sušac. Novopredložena područja kanal su između otoka Lastova i Korčule (također značajno ekološko područje za običnog dupina); kanal između otoka Korčule i Hvara i poluotoka Pelješca; kanal između otoka Brača i Hvara; područje mora kod istočne strane otoka Mljeta i područje u Sjevernom Jadranu, koje je podijeljeno Zonom gospodarske isključivosti (EEZ) između Italije i Hrvatske, stoga je podneseno kao dvije odvojene IBA-e.

Ovo je prvi put da su u Hrvatskoj proglašena područja za ptice koja se nalaze isključivo na moru. Ta područja će u budućnosti postati dio ekološke mreže Natura 2000, mreže zaštite važnih područja u cijeloj Europskoj uniji. Osim poboljšanja uvjeta za gniježđenje u kolonijama, označavanje područja u moru za zaštitu važno je za dugoročno preživljavanje naših kaukala i gregula, ptica koje su dobro poznate ribarima.

Prvi put da su u Hrvatskoj proglašena su područja za ptice koja se nalaze isključivo na moru, javlja Udruga Sunce.

Dio je to projekta "LIFE Artina – Mreža za očuvanje morskih ptica u Jadranskom moru" kojem je cilj bio identificirati ključna područja očuvanja značajna za ptice u Jadranskom moru, s naglaskom na sredozemnog galeba, kaukala i gregulu.

Važno je napomenuti da su sredozemni galeb i gregula vrste morskih ptica koje su globalno ugrožene i koje su na popisu ranjivih vrsta prema IUCN-u (Međunarodna udruga za zaštitu prirode (IUCN) koja uključuje vladine organizacije i civilno društvene organizacije). Ta područja obuhvaćaju važna staništa tijekom sezone gniježđenja (uglavnom korištena za hranjenje i odmor tijekom razdoblja kada se odgajaju ptići).

Upravo u tu svrhu za vrijeme trajanja projekta praćena su kretanja 40 kaukala, 40 gregula te 25 sredozemnih galebova uz pomoć GPS uređaja. Bolje razumijevanje njihova kretanja važno je za njihovu zaštitu, kako bismo bolje razumjeli koja područja koriste i s kojim prijetnjama se suočavaju. Označavanje ptica pomaže u boljem razumijevanju različitih aspekata ekologije vrste, poput mjesta gniježđenja, područja prehrane, mjesta za odmor, migracijskih ruta i zimovanja.

Tijekom istraživanja uočeno je da su neke jedinke sredozemnog galeba, koje su označene u lastovskom arhipelagu, migrirale na atlantsku obalu Maroka (oko 3000 kilometara udaljenu), dok su neke jedinke zabilježene i u Senegalu (preko 4000 km). Također, zabilježila su kretanja kaukala i gregula kako napuštaju područje Lastova kako bi se hranili u sjevernom Jadranu, blizu Istre.

Prikupljenim podacima putem praćenja GPS-om, prebrojavanjem gnijezda i praćenjem kretanja ptica morskim transektima, projekt LIFE Artina omogućio je proglašenje pet novih važnih područja za ptice i bioraznolikost (IBA) te proširenje granica dvaju postojećih područja. Ta potonja dva područja uključuju POP Pučinski otoci, koji obuhvaća područje oko otoka Visa, uključujući Biševo, Svetac (Sv. Andrija), Brusnik, Jabuka i Palagružu; i POP Lastovsko otočje, koje obuhvaća 46 otoka i otočića i okolno more, uključujući otok Sušac. Novopredložena područja kanal su između otoka Lastova i Korčule (također značajno ekološko područje za običnog dupina); kanal između otoka Korčule i Hvara i poluotoka Pelješca; kanal između otoka Brača i Hvara; područje mora kod istočne strane otoka Mljeta i područje u Sjevernom Jadranu, koje je podijeljeno Zonom gospodarske isključivosti (EEZ) između Italije i Hrvatske, stoga je podneseno kao dvije odvojene IBA-e.

Ovo je prvi put da su u Hrvatskoj proglašena područja za ptice koja se nalaze isključivo na moru. Ta područja će u budućnosti postati dio ekološke mreže Natura 2000, mreže zaštite važnih područja u cijeloj Europskoj uniji. Osim poboljšanja uvjeta za gniježđenje u kolonijama, označavanje područja u moru za zaštitu važno je za dugoročno preživljavanje naših kaukala i gregula, ptica koje su dobro poznate ribarima.

Prvi put da su u Hrvatskoj proglašena su područja za ptice koja se nalaze isključivo na moru, javlja Udruga Sunce.

Dio je to projekta "LIFE Artina – Mreža za očuvanje morskih ptica u Jadranskom moru" kojem je cilj bio identificirati ključna područja očuvanja značajna za ptice u Jadranskom moru, s naglaskom na sredozemnog galeba, kaukala i gregulu.

Važno je napomenuti da su sredozemni galeb i gregula vrste morskih ptica koje su globalno ugrožene i koje su na popisu ranjivih vrsta prema IUCN-u (Međunarodna udruga za zaštitu prirode (IUCN) koja uključuje vladine organizacije i civilno društvene organizacije). Ta područja obuhvaćaju važna staništa tijekom sezone gniježđenja (uglavnom korištena za hranjenje i odmor tijekom razdoblja kada se odgajaju ptići).

Upravo u tu svrhu za vrijeme trajanja projekta praćena su kretanja 40 kaukala, 40 gregula te 25 sredozemnih galebova uz pomoć GPS uređaja. Bolje razumijevanje njihova kretanja važno je za njihovu zaštitu, kako bismo bolje razumjeli koja područja koriste i s kojim prijetnjama se suočavaju. Označavanje ptica pomaže u boljem razumijevanju različitih aspekata ekologije vrste, poput mjesta gniježđenja, područja prehrane, mjesta za odmor, migracijskih ruta i zimovanja.

Tijekom istraživanja uočeno je da su neke jedinke sredozemnog galeba, koje su označene u lastovskom arhipelagu, migrirale na atlantsku obalu Maroka (oko 3000 kilometara udaljenu), dok su neke jedinke zabilježene i u Senegalu (preko 4000 km). Također, zabilježila su kretanja kaukala i gregula kako napuštaju područje Lastova kako bi se hranili u sjevernom Jadranu, blizu Istre.
