U 65. godini života preminuo je irsko-britanski glazbenik Shane MacGowan, pjevač grupe The Pogues, javio je Sky News.

Frontmen Poguesa mjesecima je bio na intenzivnoj njezi nakon što mu je prošle godine dijagnosticiran virusni encefalitis, upala mozga. Simptomi uključuju gubitak pokreta i poteškoće u govoru, a Shaneovo zdravstveno stanje itekako se pogoršalo.

Bolest mu je dijagnosticirana krajem prošle godine i rečeno je da se pogoršala virusom zosterom koji se proširio na oko.

Poslije nekoliko padova, loma zdjelice i desnoga koljena, Shane MacGowan je od 2015. godine koristio invalidska kolica.

- Shane će uvijek biti svjetlo koje držim pred sobom i mjerilo mojih snova i ljubav mog života, poručila je supruga Victoria Mary Clarke u povodu smrti glazbenika.

Prije dva tjedna njegova je supruga zatražila od obožavatelja ‘ljubav i molitve‘ nakon što je podijelila potresnu fotografiju pjevača Poguesa spojenog na aparat za disanje.

Pjevač je u mlađim danima bio ovisan o heroinu te je bio dugogodišnji ovisnik o alkoholu, piše Jutarnji list.

Shane MacGowan kao autor stajao je iza najboljih, globalno poznatih pjesama The Poguesa kao što su "A Pair Of Brown Eyes", "A Rainy Night In Soho", "Summer in Siam", "Sally MacLennane" i druge.

Shane MacGowan, rođen na Božić 1957. godine, napisao je i s Kirsty MacColl, kćeri legendarnog izvođača irskog folka Ewana MacColla  1987. godine otpjevao jednu od najpoznatijih i najljepših božićnih pjesma "Fairytale Of New York", puna njegove prepoznatljive ironije i uvrnutosti. Veliku popularnost stekao je i duetom s Nickom Caveom u pjesmi "What a Wonderful World".

S Poguesima je Shane od 1984. do 1990. snimio pet albuma, a onda su oni nastavili bez njega, a on je osnovao The Popes. Ni jedni ni drugi koji nisu dosegnuli uspjehe prvoga benda. S Popesima je Shane održao koncert u Zagrebu.

U mladim danima bio je poklonik punk pokreta, nefotogenični fan iz prvih redova. Odrastao je na selu, u bliskom doticaju s alkoholom ali i irskim folkom, što se sve osjetilo i u glazbi koju je stvarao. U školi je prepoznat  njegov talent za pisanje pa je s 13 godina osvojio književnu nagradu Daily Mirror, a za eseje stipendiju za školu Westminster. Iz nje je brzo izbačen zbog pušenja marihuane, piše N1.

Ovaj Božić, kao i idući i dani za njima, svakako će biti tužniji bez Shanea MacGowana, koji je žute stranice punio skandalima s ovisnošću, ali je iza sebe ostavio nezaboravne pjesme. Iako su ga ovisnost i bolest odavno udaljila od pozornice, neprijeporno je riječ je o jednom od najboljih tekstopisca i autora punk, rock i folk glazbe posljednjih desetljeća.

U 65. godini života preminuo je irsko-britanski glazbenik Shane MacGowan, pjevač grupe The Pogues, javio je Sky News.

Frontmen Poguesa mjesecima je bio na intenzivnoj njezi nakon što mu je prošle godine dijagnosticiran virusni encefalitis, upala mozga. Simptomi uključuju gubitak pokreta i poteškoće u govoru, a Shaneovo zdravstveno stanje itekako se pogoršalo.

Bolest mu je dijagnosticirana krajem prošle godine i rečeno je da se pogoršala virusom zosterom koji se proširio na oko.

Poslije nekoliko padova, loma zdjelice i desnoga koljena, Shane MacGowan je od 2015. godine koristio invalidska kolica.

- Shane će uvijek biti svjetlo koje držim pred sobom i mjerilo mojih snova i ljubav mog života, poručila je supruga Victoria Mary Clarke u povodu smrti glazbenika.

Prije dva tjedna njegova je supruga zatražila od obožavatelja ‘ljubav i molitve‘ nakon što je podijelila potresnu fotografiju pjevača Poguesa spojenog na aparat za disanje.

Pjevač je u mlađim danima bio ovisan o heroinu te je bio dugogodišnji ovisnik o alkoholu, piše Jutarnji list.

Shane MacGowan kao autor stajao je iza najboljih, globalno poznatih pjesama The Poguesa kao što su "A Pair Of Brown Eyes", "A Rainy Night In Soho", "Summer in Siam", "Sally MacLennane" i druge.

Shane MacGowan, rođen na Božić 1957. godine, napisao je i s Kirsty MacColl, kćeri legendarnog izvođača irskog folka Ewana MacColla  1987. godine otpjevao jednu od najpoznatijih i najljepših božićnih pjesma "Fairytale Of New York", puna njegove prepoznatljive ironije i uvrnutosti. Veliku popularnost stekao je i duetom s Nickom Caveom u pjesmi "What a Wonderful World".

S Poguesima je Shane od 1984. do 1990. snimio pet albuma, a onda su oni nastavili bez njega, a on je osnovao The Popes. Ni jedni ni drugi koji nisu dosegnuli uspjehe prvoga benda. S Popesima je Shane održao koncert u Zagrebu.

U mladim danima bio je poklonik punk pokreta, nefotogenični fan iz prvih redova. Odrastao je na selu, u bliskom doticaju s alkoholom ali i irskim folkom, što se sve osjetilo i u glazbi koju je stvarao. U školi je prepoznat  njegov talent za pisanje pa je s 13 godina osvojio književnu nagradu Daily Mirror, a za eseje stipendiju za školu Westminster. Iz nje je brzo izbačen zbog pušenja marihuane, piše N1.

Ovaj Božić, kao i idući i dani za njima, svakako će biti tužniji bez Shanea MacGowana, koji je žute stranice punio skandalima s ovisnošću, ali je iza sebe ostavio nezaboravne pjesme. Iako su ga ovisnost i bolest odavno udaljila od pozornice, neprijeporno je riječ je o jednom od najboljih tekstopisca i autora punk, rock i folk glazbe posljednjih desetljeća.
