Udarni valovi sa Sunca otvorili su rupu u Zemljinom magnetskom polju.

Nakon neočekivanog udarnog vala uslijedio je i nalet solarnog vjetra koji je nedavno pogodio Zemljinu atmosferu. Solarni vjetrovi su visoko nabijene čestice koje oslobađa gornja atmosfera Sunca, često prateći intenzivan izljev magnetske energije. Kako Sunce prolazi kroz promjene tijekom svog 11-godišnjeg solarnog ciklusa, magnetski tok se povećava u određenim područjima. Kao rezultat toga, površinska temperatura se značajno smanjuje i područje izgleda tamnije kada se promatra sa Zemlje, a znanstvenici to nazivaju sunčevom pjegom. Energije zarobljene u sunčevoj pjegi mogu se osloboditi u intenzivnoj erupciji koja se naziva solarna baklja. Također se može sastojati od nabijenih čestica sa Sunčeve površine što se naziva koronalno izbacivanje mase (CME), koje se, kada putuje dalje od smjera Sunca, naziva solarnim vjetrovima i postaje odgovorno za svemirsko vrijeme, piše HAK Revija.

Sljedeći vrhunac solarnog ciklusa očekuje se 2025. godine, a aktivnost je u porastu u posljednjih nekoliko mjeseci. Prošli tjedan, Sunčeva pjega AR3165 poslala je osam solarnih baklji, od kojih svaka pripada klasi M, kategorizaciji solarnih baklji srednjeg intenziteta. Svaki povećani intenzitet mogao je rezultirati klasificiranjem baklji kao bakljama klase X, najvećim intenzitetom poznatim čovjeku. Stanovnici našeg planeta, od štetnih utjecaja solarnih vjetrova zaštićeni su atmosferskim pokrivačem oko planeta, a kada čestice visoke energije stupaju u interakciju s molekulama u Zemljinoj atmosferi, komprimirajući Zemljino magnetsko polje, to se zove geomagnetska oluja. Znanstvenici sumnjaju da su visokoenergetske čestice koje dolaze iz CME-a koje je oslobodila Sunčeva pjega AR3165 otvorile Zemljinu magnetosferu.

Koliko loše to može postati? Čestice iz CME-a dovoljno su snažne da ometaju satelite i stvore radio zamračenja jer ometaju signale u atmosferi. Kako se solarna aktivnost povećava, očekuje se i povećanje intenziteta solarnih baklji i CME-ova, što će rezultirati jačim geomagnetskim olujama, piše HAK Revija.

Pri većem intenzitetu geomagnetska oluja može izazvati poremećaje u energetskoj infrastrukturi i srušiti električne mreže. Šteta, naravno, može biti ogromna. Najveći takav događaj dogodio se 1859. godine, nazvan Carringtonov događaj, kada su telegrafski sustavi diljem svijeta prestali raditi, a kakav nas očekuje u bliskoj budućnosti možemo samo nagađati.

Udarni valovi sa Sunca otvorili su rupu u Zemljinom magnetskom polju.

Nakon neočekivanog udarnog vala uslijedio je i nalet solarnog vjetra koji je nedavno pogodio Zemljinu atmosferu. Solarni vjetrovi su visoko nabijene čestice koje oslobađa gornja atmosfera Sunca, često prateći intenzivan izljev magnetske energije. Kako Sunce prolazi kroz promjene tijekom svog 11-godišnjeg solarnog ciklusa, magnetski tok se povećava u određenim područjima. Kao rezultat toga, površinska temperatura se značajno smanjuje i područje izgleda tamnije kada se promatra sa Zemlje, a znanstvenici to nazivaju sunčevom pjegom. Energije zarobljene u sunčevoj pjegi mogu se osloboditi u intenzivnoj erupciji koja se naziva solarna baklja. Također se može sastojati od nabijenih čestica sa Sunčeve površine što se naziva koronalno izbacivanje mase (CME), koje se, kada putuje dalje od smjera Sunca, naziva solarnim vjetrovima i postaje odgovorno za svemirsko vrijeme, piše HAK Revija.

Sljedeći vrhunac solarnog ciklusa očekuje se 2025. godine, a aktivnost je u porastu u posljednjih nekoliko mjeseci. Prošli tjedan, Sunčeva pjega AR3165 poslala je osam solarnih baklji, od kojih svaka pripada klasi M, kategorizaciji solarnih baklji srednjeg intenziteta. Svaki povećani intenzitet mogao je rezultirati klasificiranjem baklji kao bakljama klase X, najvećim intenzitetom poznatim čovjeku. Stanovnici našeg planeta, od štetnih utjecaja solarnih vjetrova zaštićeni su atmosferskim pokrivačem oko planeta, a kada čestice visoke energije stupaju u interakciju s molekulama u Zemljinoj atmosferi, komprimirajući Zemljino magnetsko polje, to se zove geomagnetska oluja. Znanstvenici sumnjaju da su visokoenergetske čestice koje dolaze iz CME-a koje je oslobodila Sunčeva pjega AR3165 otvorile Zemljinu magnetosferu.

Koliko loše to može postati? Čestice iz CME-a dovoljno su snažne da ometaju satelite i stvore radio zamračenja jer ometaju signale u atmosferi. Kako se solarna aktivnost povećava, očekuje se i povećanje intenziteta solarnih baklji i CME-ova, što će rezultirati jačim geomagnetskim olujama, piše HAK Revija.

Pri većem intenzitetu geomagnetska oluja može izazvati poremećaje u energetskoj infrastrukturi i srušiti električne mreže. Šteta, naravno, može biti ogromna. Najveći takav događaj dogodio se 1859. godine, nazvan Carringtonov događaj, kada su telegrafski sustavi diljem svijeta prestali raditi, a kakav nas očekuje u bliskoj budućnosti možemo samo nagađati.

Sunce napravilo rupu u Zemljinom magnetskom polju, nadolazeća oslobađanja energije mogu izazvati poremećaje s električnom energijom diljem svijeta

Udarni valovi sa Sunca otvorili su rupu u Zemljinom magnetskom polju.

Nakon neočekivanog udarnog vala uslijedio je i nalet solarnog vjetra koji je nedavno pogodio Zemljinu atmosferu. Solarni vjetrovi su visoko nabijene čestice koje oslobađa gornja atmosfera Sunca, često prateći intenzivan izljev magnetske energije. Kako Sunce prolazi kroz promjene tijekom svog 11-godišnjeg solarnog ciklusa, magnetski tok se povećava u određenim područjima. Kao rezultat toga, površinska temperatura se značajno smanjuje i područje izgleda tamnije kada se promatra sa Zemlje, a znanstvenici to nazivaju sunčevom pjegom. Energije zarobljene u sunčevoj pjegi mogu se osloboditi u intenzivnoj erupciji koja se naziva solarna baklja. Također se može sastojati od nabijenih čestica sa Sunčeve površine što se naziva koronalno izbacivanje mase (CME), koje se, kada putuje dalje od smjera Sunca, naziva solarnim vjetrovima i postaje odgovorno za svemirsko vrijeme, piše HAK Revija.

Sljedeći vrhunac solarnog ciklusa očekuje se 2025. godine, a aktivnost je u porastu u posljednjih nekoliko mjeseci. Prošli tjedan, Sunčeva pjega AR3165 poslala je osam solarnih baklji, od kojih svaka pripada klasi M, kategorizaciji solarnih baklji srednjeg intenziteta. Svaki povećani intenzitet mogao je rezultirati klasificiranjem baklji kao bakljama klase X, najvećim intenzitetom poznatim čovjeku. Stanovnici našeg planeta, od štetnih utjecaja solarnih vjetrova zaštićeni su atmosferskim pokrivačem oko planeta, a kada čestice visoke energije stupaju u interakciju s molekulama u Zemljinoj atmosferi, komprimirajući Zemljino magnetsko polje, to se zove geomagnetska oluja. Znanstvenici sumnjaju da su visokoenergetske čestice koje dolaze iz CME-a koje je oslobodila Sunčeva pjega AR3165 otvorile Zemljinu magnetosferu.

Koliko loše to može postati? Čestice iz CME-a dovoljno su snažne da ometaju satelite i stvore radio zamračenja jer ometaju signale u atmosferi. Kako se solarna aktivnost povećava, očekuje se i povećanje intenziteta solarnih baklji i CME-ova, što će rezultirati jačim geomagnetskim olujama, piše HAK Revija.

Pri većem intenzitetu geomagnetska oluja može izazvati poremećaje u energetskoj infrastrukturi i srušiti električne mreže. Šteta, naravno, može biti ogromna. Najveći takav događaj dogodio se 1859. godine, nazvan Carringtonov događaj, kada su telegrafski sustavi diljem svijeta prestali raditi, a kakav nas očekuje u bliskoj budućnosti možemo samo nagađati.
