„U vremenu od 26. do 28. prosinca na području Biograda nepoznati počinitelj je na području arheološkog nalazišta otuđio kamene dijelove. U tijeku su policijski izvidi u svezi kaznenog djela teške krađe.”
Iza ove šture vijesti iz dnevnog policijskog biltena krije se slučaj rijetkog vandalizma, kojeg možemo osuđivati, ali nas teško više može iznenaditi.
Naime, na arheološkom lokalitetu Sv. Toma, ispod biogradske crkve Sv. Stošije, već se mjesecima provode zaštitna arheološka istraživanja. Starim dijelom grada provodi se nova vodovodna mreža i djelatnici Zavičajnog muzeja Biograd na Moru imaju obvezu nadzora radova. Dosad su na trasi nove vodovodne mreže pronašli petnaestak grobova, većinom iz kasnog srednjeg vijeka, a zadnje takve otkrili su pred Božić, kada su zbog blagdana nakratko radovi bili prekinuti.

- Na toj je lokaciji otkrivena su dva groba s velikim kamenim poklopnicama. Svaka poklopnica je dimenzija dva puta jedan metar, odnosno dva kvadratna metra, debljine nekih desetak centimetara. Riječ je o kamenim pločama koji nisu bile u jednome komadu, ali su s njima grobovi bili zatvoreni. Kad smo se nakon Božića vratili na lokaciju primijetili smo da kamenih poklopnica više nema. Najvjerojatnije su ukradene – priča nam Draženko Samardžić, ravnatelj Zavičajnog muzeja u Biogradu. Odmah su pozvali policiju i prijavili krađu.

- Kad smo otkrili grobove iz njih smo izvadili kosti i deponirali ih u prostoru naše ustanove. Poklopnice smo ostavili jer su bile slomljene, ali smo ih također namjeravali premjestiti u naš muzej. Međutim, netko je bio brži od nas i kameni poklopci grobova su nestali – rezignirano će ravnatelj.
Radovi na izgradnji novog vodovoda počeli su još prošle godine, prekinuti su bili tijekom turističke sezone, i onda su krajem ljeta opet nastavljeni. Zaštitna arheološka istraživanja provode se kako bi se sačuvala vrijedna povijesna baština Biograda na ucrtanoj trasi nove vodovodne mreže, no nekima je to očito bila prilika da se materijalno okoriste. Besramnim skrnavljenjem grobova.

„U vremenu od 26. do 28. prosinca na području Biograda nepoznati počinitelj je na području arheološkog nalazišta otuđio kamene dijelove. U tijeku su policijski izvidi u svezi kaznenog djela teške krađe.”
Iza ove šture vijesti iz dnevnog policijskog biltena krije se slučaj rijetkog vandalizma, kojeg možemo osuđivati, ali nas teško više može iznenaditi.
Naime, na arheološkom lokalitetu Sv. Toma, ispod biogradske crkve Sv. Stošije, već se mjesecima provode zaštitna arheološka istraživanja. Starim dijelom grada provodi se nova vodovodna mreža i djelatnici Zavičajnog muzeja Biograd na Moru imaju obvezu nadzora radova. Dosad su na trasi nove vodovodne mreže pronašli petnaestak grobova, većinom iz kasnog srednjeg vijeka, a zadnje takve otkrili su pred Božić, kada su zbog blagdana nakratko radovi bili prekinuti.

- Na toj je lokaciji otkrivena su dva groba s velikim kamenim poklopnicama. Svaka poklopnica je dimenzija dva puta jedan metar, odnosno dva kvadratna metra, debljine nekih desetak centimetara. Riječ je o kamenim pločama koji nisu bile u jednome komadu, ali su s njima grobovi bili zatvoreni. Kad smo se nakon Božića vratili na lokaciju primijetili smo da kamenih poklopnica više nema. Najvjerojatnije su ukradene – priča nam Draženko Samardžić, ravnatelj Zavičajnog muzeja u Biogradu. Odmah su pozvali policiju i prijavili krađu.

- Kad smo otkrili grobove iz njih smo izvadili kosti i deponirali ih u prostoru naše ustanove. Poklopnice smo ostavili jer su bile slomljene, ali smo ih također namjeravali premjestiti u naš muzej. Međutim, netko je bio brži od nas i kameni poklopci grobova su nestali – rezignirano će ravnatelj.
Radovi na izgradnji novog vodovoda počeli su još prošle godine, prekinuti su bili tijekom turističke sezone, i onda su krajem ljeta opet nastavljeni. Zaštitna arheološka istraživanja provode se kako bi se sačuvala vrijedna povijesna baština Biograda na ucrtanoj trasi nove vodovodne mreže, no nekima je to očito bila prilika da se materijalno okoriste. Besramnim skrnavljenjem grobova.
