Luka Modrić protiv Lionela Messija. U polufinalu Hrvatske i Argentine u utorak navečer dva legendarna kapetana svojih reprezentacija borit će se za plasman u finale Svjetskog prvenstva, obračunat će se na pretposljednjoj stepenici na putu do trofeja kojeg sanjaju.

Premda, uz sav respekt njihovoj nogometnoj genijalnosti, mi navijači i simpatizeri Hajduka imamo svog klupskog ML10 koji je za nas naš Bog nogometa. Što ako pokraj Modrića i Messija Marko Livaja ukrade svjetla reflektora i odvede Hrvatsku u finale?

Messiju je osvajanje naslova prvaka svijeta vjerojatno jedino što mu nedostaje za potvrdu apsolutne titule najboljeg nogometaša svih vremena, da dostigne idola Diega Armanda Maradonu i kao on još za života uđe među besmrtnike. Jer kada se potegnu rasprave o tome tko je najveći, kada se vuku paralele i dalje je argument pristaša pokojnog Maradone, Pelea činjenica da su oni osvajali Mundijal(e). Messi je najbliži bio kada je 2014. godine u Brazilu igrao finale.

Isto vrijedi i za Modrića. I hrvatski kapetan je ostao na koračić do toliko željenog trofeja. Messija je prije osam godina u Brazilu zaustavila Njemačka, Hrvatsku prije četiri i pol godine u Rusiji u finalu Francuska. A obojici je ovo vjerojatno posljednja šansa da to naprave. Zajedno imaju 72 godine.

Modriću je već 37 godina na leđima. U vrijeme idućeg Mundijala koji će se 2026. godine igrati u SAD-u, Kanadi i Meksiku imat će 40 godina, bit će na pragu 41. rođendana (rođen je u rujnu). Pa nije naš LM 10 svojevremeni kamerunski RM 9, Roger Milla pa da nakon četrdesete drma na SP-u. A Messiju je “samo” 35. Kada tri spomenute države Sjeverne Amerike ugoste najbolje nogometaše svijeta vjerojatno će također već objesiti kopačke o klin ili će u najboljem slučaju biti već jako daleko od svojih najboljih izdanja.

Zanimljivo, obojica su osvajali Zlatnu loptu na Mundijalu nakon što su gubili spomenuta finala, Messi 2014. od Njemačke, Modrić od Francuske 2018. godine. A što se tiče Zlatnih lopti France Footballa (Ballon d’Or) Messi ih je ukupno osvojio čak sedam, Modrić onu jednu 2018. godine. 

Rivalstvo Modrića i Messija ne može se možda mjeriti s onim koje magični Argentinac ima s Cristianom Ronaldom, ali itekako ima svoju težinu. Devet godina bili su veliki rivali u Španjolskoj, Messi kao prva vedeta Barcelone, Modrić kao glavni motor Real Madrida. Iza Modrića i Messija je mnoštvo odigranih El Clasica. Sve dok Messi nije 2021. godine nije preselio u redove PSG-a. A rivalstvo se nastavilo čak i potom.

Ždrijeb prošlosezonske Lige prvaka se tada poigrao pa je u osmini finala spojio Messijev PSG s Realom. U prvom susretu slavili su Parižani na svom terenu pogotkom Kyliana Mbappea. I u uzvratu je isti igrač francuskom sastavu donio vodstvo, ali onda se ukazao Karim Benzema i hat trickom zabijenim u zadnjih pola sata je donio prolazak kraljevskom klubu. Iz te večeri posebno se pamti i asistencija Modrića za drugi pogodak Benzeme.

A Messi će tražiti revanš, osvetu i za 0:3 poraz u skupini prošlog Mundijala u Rusiji. Taj je uvjerljivi poraz Argentinu već u osmini finala bacio na kasnijeg prvaka Francusku (3:4).

Zanimljiva je još jedna poveznica Modrića i Messija, Hrvatske i Argentine.

Modrić je debitirao za seniorsku reprezentaciju Hrvatske 1. ožujka davne 2006. godine u prijateljskom susretu baš s Argentinom u švicarskom Baselu (3:2 za „kockaste”).

A Messi je svoj prvi pogodak za Argentinu zabio baš u toj utakmici, u svom šestom nastupu u najdražem dresu.

Luka Modrić protiv Lionela Messija. U polufinalu Hrvatske i Argentine u utorak navečer dva legendarna kapetana svojih reprezentacija borit će se za plasman u finale Svjetskog prvenstva, obračunat će se na pretposljednjoj stepenici na putu do trofeja kojeg sanjaju.

Što ako pokraj Modrića i Messija Marko Livaja ukrade svjetla reflektora i odvede Hrvatsku u finale?

Messiju je osvajanje naslova prvaka svijeta vjerojatno jedino što mu nedostaje za potvrdu apsolutne titule najboljeg nogometaša svih vremena, da dostigne idola Diega Armanda Maradonu i kao on još za života uđe među besmrtnike. Jer kada se potegnu rasprave o tome tko je najveći, kada se vuku paralele i dalje je argument pristaša pokojnog Maradone, Pelea činjenica da su oni osvajali Mundijal(e). Messi je najbliži bio kada je 2014. godine u Brazilu igrao finale.

Isto vrijedi i za Modrića. I hrvatski kapetan je ostao na koračić do toliko željenog trofeja. Messija je prije osam godina u Brazilu zaustavila Njemačka, Hrvatsku prije četiri i pol godine u Rusiji u finalu Francuska. A obojici je ovo vjerojatno posljednja šansa da to naprave. Zajedno imaju 72 godine.

Modriću je već 37 godina na leđima. U vrijeme idućeg Mundijala koji će se 2026. godine igrati u SAD-u, Kanadi i Meksiku imat će 40 godina, bit će na pragu 41. rođendana (rođen je u rujnu). Pa nije naš LM 10 svojevremeni kamerunski RM 9, Roger Milla pa da nakon četrdesete drma na SP-u. A Messiju je “samo” 35. Kada tri spomenute države Sjeverne Amerike ugoste najbolje nogometaše svijeta vjerojatno će također već objesiti kopačke o klin ili će u najboljem slučaju biti već jako daleko od svojih najboljih izdanja.

Zanimljivo, obojica su osvajali Zlatnu loptu na Mundijalu nakon što su gubili spomenuta finala, Messi 2014. od Njemačke, Modrić od Francuske 2018. godine. A što se tiče Zlatnih lopti France Footballa (Ballon d’Or) Messi ih je ukupno osvojio čak sedam, Modrić onu jednu 2018. godine.

Luka Modrić protiv Lionela Messija. U polufinalu Hrvatske i Argentine u utorak navečer dva legendarna kapetana svojih reprezentacija borit će se za plasman u finale Svjetskog prvenstva, obračunat će se na pretposljednjoj stepenici na putu do trofeja kojeg sanjaju.

Premda, uz sav respekt njihovoj nogometnoj genijalnosti, mi navijači i simpatizeri Hajduka imamo svog klupskog ML10 koji je za nas naš Bog nogometa. Što ako pokraj Modrića i Messija Marko Livaja ukrade svjetla reflektora i odvede Hrvatsku u finale?
