U ime Oca, i Sina, i Duha svetog, sa‘ ćemo reć‘ jedan Očenaš, Zdravo Mariju i Slava Ocu za našeg dragog druga Tita i Partiju!

Na tu je ješku otac ratnog zapovjednika Druge dalmatinske proleterske brigade, narodnog heroja Ivana Gaće, inače gorljivi vjernik, ugostio članove partijskog Komiteta u svojem domu u Zagvozdu na ručku kojeg je kod starog ćaće iza Bijakove priredio rečeni šest puta ranjavani zagvoški borac kojeg se i danas svi rado sjete.

I što će drugovi, jest da je protiv njihova uvjerenja, ali hajde riskiraj i ne pomoli se za onodobnu partijsku vrhušku i ideju o astralnoj finoći samoupravnog socijalizma. Ma svi se redom pomolili. A kao, nisu znali. A ne kao ovi današnji ni prekrižit se ne znaju, a uredno popunjavaju prve redove do oltara.

U Zagvozdu se i danas križaju na spomen Ivana Gaće, manje za ćaću mu, za kojeg malo tko od mlađarije zna osim po ovoj anegdoti koja se prenosi od koljena na koljeno. Mogao je Gaće, kao i njegov sumještanin Stipe Šuvar, zauvijek odlepršati iz rodnog kraja i odletjeti u hladovinu zagrebačkih i beogradskih foruma, zaboraviti svoje ognjište i onaj ručak s komitetlijama koji ga je mogao stajati glave, a lijepo je ocu govorio:

- Ćaća, pripazi kako ćeš s drugovima, nemoj pričat o Bogu i crkvi.

Cesta u središtu mjesta do danas nije previše modernizirana

Mogao je, ali se stari nije dao jednako kao i sin koji se se sav dao za svoj kraj. Iako je unatoč (po)ratnim zaslugama i poznanstvima, ipak bio daleko od savezne i republičke "kese", znao je iskamčit novac i graditi tvornice i infrastrukturu, dovevši početkom šezdesetih prošlog stoljeća asfalt u rodno selo, dok se još i u Splitu hodalo po prašnjavim ulicama.

Taj asfalt je svojedobno na Televiziji Zagreb na sebi svojstven način opisala i danas pokojna glumica Nela Eržišnik, pitajući goste u studiju, što je najtanje na svijetu. Svi su se međusobno pogledali, a baba Ikača, kako se zvao lik koji je majstorski igrala rođena Ličanka iz sela Brlog, ispalila je k‘o iz topa - Gaćin asfalt.

Malo tko od njezinih sustolnika je bio čuo za Gaću, a kamoli o asfaltnoj masi koja se položila u međubrdskoj razderotini između Biokova i Orljače. A bilo je više cestovnog pokrova nego u kojem gradu.

Cijelo selo, pričalo se tada, a to možete vidjeti na fotografijama koje objavljujemo, a prvi put su dostupne široj javnosti, priskočilo je izgradnji prometnice na trasi drevne Napoleonove ceste kroz središte Zagvozda. Nažalost, od onda do danas nitko ozbiljnije nije poradio na tome da se ova prometnica konačno uredi kako i zaslužuje.

Iz istog vremena ostala je anegdota koju malo tko zna, a riječ je o gradnji crkve Gospe Karmelske. Radovi su počeli koncem pedesetih godina prošlog stoljeća, a dovršeni su 1963., debelo u vrijeme socijalističke vlasti.

Počela su se dva vitka zvonika uranjati u nebo, a u Komitetu, valjda onom republičkom, "usprdecali se" drugovi. Poslali su depešu Ivanu Gaći, rečenom narodnom heroju, šest puta ranjavanom, s pitanjem što se to događa u njegovu mistu.

On je bio i ostao čovik iz naroda, diše jednako kao i njegovi sumještani. Ne može protiv, jer - ubit će ga ćaća.

- Drugovi, ne bojte se, neka grade. Služit će to nama. Mislili smo tu držat vojne konje - poručio im je čovjek po kojem je, recimo i to, osnovna škola u Zagvozdu nosila ime od 1979. godine do Domovinskog rata.

U sekretarijatu su se prividno primirili i crkva se u međuvremenu izgradila. Konji su po odluci s "više razine" otišli južnije prema moru, u Svinišće kod Omiša, a ljudi u novu crkvu kakve ni danas nema na daleko.

I gledajući sa odmakom od šest desetljeća, Ivan Gaće je bio ispred svog vremena. Socijalistički vizionar i golub među vranama, a ne beskrvni šupljak, kako su ga nazivali zlobnici iz komunističke vrhuške.

U ime Oca, i Sina, i Duha svetog, sa‘ ćemo reć‘ jedan Očenaš, Zdravo Mariju i Slava Ocu za našeg dragog druga Tita i Partiju!

Na tu je ješku otac ratnog zapovjednika Druge dalmatinske proleterske brigade, narodnog heroja Ivana Gaće, inače gorljivi vjernik, ugostio članove partijskog Komiteta u svojem domu u Zagvozdu na ručku kojeg je kod starog ćaće iza Bijakove priredio rečeni šest puta ranjavani zagvoški borac kojeg se i danas svi rado sjete.

I što će drugovi, jest da je protiv njihova uvjerenja, ali hajde riskiraj i ne pomoli se za onodobnu partijsku vrhušku i ideju o astralnoj finoći samoupravnog socijalizma. Ma svi se redom pomolili. A kao, nisu znali. A ne kao ovi današnji ni prekrižit se ne znaju, a uredno popunjavaju prve redove do oltara.

U Zagvozdu se i danas križaju na spomen Ivana Gaće, manje za ćaću mu, za kojeg malo tko od mlađarije zna osim po ovoj anegdoti koja se prenosi od koljena na koljeno. Mogao je Gaće, kao i njegov sumještanin Stipe Šuvar, zauvijek odlepršati iz rodnog kraja i odletjeti u hladovinu zagrebačkih i beogradskih foruma, zaboraviti svoje ognjište i onaj ručak s komitetlijama koji ga je mogao stajati glave, a lijepo je ocu govorio:

- Ćaća, pripazi kako ćeš s drugovima, nemoj pričat o Bogu i crkvi.

Mogao je, ali se stari nije dao jednako kao i sin koji se se sav dao za svoj kraj. Iako je unatoč (po)ratnim zaslugama i poznanstvima, ipak bio daleko od savezne i republičke "kese", znao je iskamčit novac i graditi tvornice i infrastrukturu, dovevši početkom šezdesetih prošlog stoljeća asfalt u rodno selo, dok se još i u Splitu hodalo po prašnjavim ulicama.

Taj asfalt je svojedobno na Televiziji Zagreb na sebi svojstven način opisala i danas pokojna glumica Nela Eržišnik, pitajući goste u studiju, što je najtanje na svijetu. Svi su se međusobno pogledali, a baba Ikača, kako se zvao lik koji je majstorski igrala rođena Ličanka iz sela Brlog, ispalila je k‘o iz topa - Gaćin asfalt.

Malo tko od njezinih sustolnika je bio čuo za Gaću, a kamoli o asfaltnoj masi koja se položila u međubrdskoj razderotini između Biokova i Orljače. A bilo je više cestovnog pokrova nego u kojem gradu.

Cijelo selo, pričalo se tada, a to možete vidjeti na fotografijama koje objavljujemo, a prvi put su dostupne široj javnosti, priskočilo je izgradnji prometnice na trasi drevne Napoleonove ceste kroz središte Zagvozda. Nažalost, od onda do danas nitko ozbiljnije nije poradio na tome da se ova prometnica konačno uredi kako i zaslužuje.

Iz istog vremena ostala je anegdota koju malo tko zna, a riječ je o gradnji crkve Gospe Karmelske. Radovi su počeli koncem pedesetih godina prošlog stoljeća, a dovršeni su 1963., debelo u vrijeme socijalističke vlasti.

Počela su se dva vitka zvonika uranjati u nebo, a u Komitetu, valjda onom republičkom, "usprdecali se" drugovi. Poslali su depešu Ivanu Gaći, rečenom narodnom heroju, šest puta ranjavanom, s pitanjem što se to događa u njegovu mistu.

On je bio i ostao čovik iz naroda, diše jednako kao i njegovi sumještani. Ne može protiv, jer - ubit će ga ćaća.

- Drugovi, ne bojte se, neka grade. Služit će to nama. Mislili smo tu držat vojne konje - poručio im je čovjek po kojem je, recimo i to, osnovna škola u Zagvozdu nosila ime od 1979. godine do Domovinskog rata.

U sekretarijatu su se prividno primirili i crkva se u međuvremenu izgradila. Konji su po odluci s "više razine" otišli južnije prema moru, u Svinišće kod Omiša, a ljudi u novu crkvu kakve ni danas nema na daleko.

I gledajući sa odmakom od šest desetljeća, Ivan Gaće je bio ispred svog vremena. Socijalistički vizionar i golub među vranama, a ne beskrvni šupljak, kako su ga nazivali zlobnici iz komunističke vrhuške.
