Kad bacite pogled na kalendar, znate koja je godina. Ako pratite onaj stari srpski, onda je znanstvenofantastična 7530. No jeste li znali da i u Etiopiji vrijedi posebno računanje vremena?
Tamo su, na primjer, prije nekoliko mjeseci dočekali novu 2014. godinu, piše Buka.
Kad je Katolička crkva izmijenila računanje 500. godine naše ere, Etiopska pravoslavna crkva nije to učinila. Zbog toga njihov kalendar zaostaje 7 godina i 8 mjeseci. Tako u Etiopiji Nova godina pada na 11. rujna, ili 12. kad je prijestupna, na početku proljeća južne hemisfere.
Svaki od 12 mjeseci ima 30 dana, dok trinaesti - posljednji u godini - ima pet ili šest dana, ovisno o tome je li godina prijestupna.
Vrijeme se također računa drugačije - dan je podijeljen na dva dvanaestosatna dijela, počevši od šest sati, čime i podne i ponoć padaju u šest sati po etiopskom vremenu. Tako da, ako vas netko pozove na kavu u Adis Abebi u 10 sati ujutro, a Etiopija je rodno mjesto zrna kave arabice, nemojte se čuditi ako se pojavi u 16 sati.
Etiopija je zemlja koja se oduvijek razlikovala od ostalih u Africi po mnogočemu. Nikad, na primjer, nije bila kolonizirana. Talijani su više puta pokušavali i dolazili do granica, ali su padalia u bitkama. Tek ih je Mussolini u Drugom svjetskom ratu uspio okupirati, ali time je prekršio sve potpisane dogovore.
Reggae kultura i rastafarijanci blisko su povezani s ovom zemljom jer su vjerovali u crnog kralja koji će obnoviti carstvo. Tako su počeli da pratiti Hailea Selassija, etiopskog kralja okrunjenog 1930. godine. Rastafarijanci su vjerovali u konačan povratak svih robova i njihove djece u Afriku.
Bob Marley je odigrao ključnu ulogu u širenju rastafarijanske poruke - a stihovi njegove pjesme "War" citiraju carevo obraćanje Generalnoj skupštini Ujedinjenih naroda (UN) 1963. godine u kojem poziva na mir: "Sve dok filozofija koja jednu rasu smatra superiornom, a druge inferiornim nije konačno i trajno diskreditirana i napuštena… sve do tog dana, afrički kontinent neće spoznati mir".
Bez obzira na veliku popularnost rastafarijanske crkve u pop kulturi, ipak u Etiopiji glavnu riječ vode pravoslavci i muslimani, a sama Etiopija je bila prvi dom muslimana izvan Arapskog poluotoka, piše Buka.

Kad bacite pogled na kalendar, znate koja je godina. Ako pratite onaj stari srpski, onda je znanstvenofantastična 7530. No jeste li znali da i u Etiopiji vrijedi posebno računanje vremena?
Tamo su, na primjer, prije nekoliko mjeseci dočekali novu 2014. godinu, piše Buka.
Kad je Katolička crkva izmijenila računanje 500. godine naše ere, Etiopska pravoslavna crkva nije to učinila. Zbog toga njihov kalendar zaostaje 7 godina i 8 mjeseci. Tako u Etiopiji Nova godina pada na 11. rujna, ili 12. kad je prijestupna, na početku proljeća južne hemisfere.
Svaki od 12 mjeseci ima 30 dana, dok trinaesti - posljednji u godini - ima pet ili šest dana, ovisno o tome je li godina prijestupna.
Vrijeme se također računa drugačije - dan je podijeljen na dva dvanaestosatna dijela, počevši od šest sati, čime i podne i ponoć padaju u šest sati po etiopskom vremenu. Tako da, ako vas netko pozove na kavu u Adis Abebi u 10 sati ujutro, a Etiopija je rodno mjesto zrna kave arabice, nemojte se čuditi ako se pojavi u 16 sati.
Etiopija je zemlja koja se oduvijek razlikovala od ostalih u Africi po mnogočemu. Nikad, na primjer, nije bila kolonizirana. Talijani su više puta pokušavali i dolazili do granica, ali su padalia u bitkama. Tek ih je Mussolini u Drugom svjetskom ratu uspio okupirati, ali time je prekršio sve potpisane dogovore.
Reggae kultura i rastafarijanci blisko su povezani s ovom zemljom jer su vjerovali u crnog kralja koji će obnoviti carstvo. Tako su počeli da pratiti Hailea Selassija, etiopskog kralja okrunjenog 1930. godine. Rastafarijanci su vjerovali u konačan povratak svih robova i njihove djece u Afriku.
Bob Marley je odigrao ključnu ulogu u širenju rastafarijanske poruke - a stihovi njegove pjesme "War" citiraju carevo obraćanje Generalnoj skupštini Ujedinjenih naroda (UN) 1963. godine u kojem poziva na mir: "Sve dok filozofija koja jednu rasu smatra superiornom, a druge inferiornim nije konačno i trajno diskreditirana i napuštena… sve do tog dana, afrički kontinent neće spoznati mir".
Bez obzira na veliku popularnost rastafarijanske crkve u pop kulturi, ipak u Etiopiji glavnu riječ vode pravoslavci i muslimani, a sama Etiopija je bila prvi dom muslimana izvan Arapskog poluotoka, piše Buka.
