Jedan od najprestižnijih svjetskih znanstvenih časopisa iz područja imunologije Frontiers in Immunology objavio je rezultate istraživanja hrvatskih znanstvenika iz bolnice Sv. Katarina (Primorac D., Vrdoljak K., Brlek P., Pavelić E., Molnar V., Matišić V., Erceg Ivkošić I.) te iz Sveučilišne bolnice u Bonnu (Parčina M.), a koji opisuje važnost stanične imunosti u obrani od SARS-CoV-2.  

Frontiers in Immunology je služben časopis The International Union of Immunologican Societies (IUIS), u čijem radu sudjeluje 87 članica širom svijeta, sa više od 60.000 imunologa.

Tim znanstvenika predvođen prof.dr. Draganom Primorcem analizirao je sve segmente imunosnog odgovora ljudskog organizma nakon infekcije sa SARS-CoV-2, a rezultati imaju izniman značaj u razumijevanju konteksta obrane ljudskog organizma od infekcije.

Jedan od ciljeva rada je povezivanje bazičnih spoznaja imunologije s najnovijim saznanjima patofiziologije COVID-19.

Rad posebno ukazuje na važnu ulogu stanične imunosti posredovane limfocitima T u dugotrajnoj zaštiti od COVID-19 te se očekuje da će nadolazeća istraživanja u polju stanične imunološke obrane doprinijeti boljem javnozdravstvenom zbrinjavanju SARS-CoV-2 pandemije.

Uz navedemo, u radu se detaljno analizira cijela interakcija između virusa i čovjeka – od ulaska virusne čestice pa sve do razvijanja trajne imunosne memorije.

Različite skupine pacijenata

Znanstvenici su razmotrili imunosne procese koji se odvijaju i u sluznicama, na razini same stanice, pa sve do molekularnog pristupa do razine epigenetskih spoznaja.

Usporedili su odgovore između različitih skupina pacijenata – onih koji nikada nisu bili inficirani, preboljelih, cijepljenih te onih koji su preboljeli infekciju te su također cijepljeni.

Važne rezultate istraživanja provedenog unutar tih skupina tim znanstvenika iz Specijalne bolnice Sv. Katarina nedavno je objavio u švicarskom časopisu Vaccines te su njihovi rezultati pokazali da stanična imunost, za razliku od humoralne (titra protutijela), pruža dugotrajnu zaštitu od SARS-CoV-2 čak 20 mjeseci od inicijalne infekcije sa SARS-CoV-2 ili cijepljenja.

Naime, stanična imunost ključna je komponenta direktnog uništavanja stanica inficiranih SARS-CoV-2, ali i u orkestriranju cijelog imunološkog odgovora.

Na primjer, pomoćnički CD4+ limfociti imaju neizostavnu zadaću aktivacije limfocita B koji su ključne stanice za razvoj humoralne imunosti (proizvodnje protutijela).

Cjepiva za razvoj odgovora

Osim aktivacije, stanična imunost je nužna kako za sazrijevanje humoralne imunosti, tako i za njenu kompetenciju u obrani organizma te razvitak humoralne memorije – memorijskih limfocita B.

Članak opisuje i slučajeve u kojima je zapažen razvitak stanične imunosti bez formacije humoralnog odgovora nakon susreta s antigenom.

Štoviše, u tekstu se prezentira važnost interferona-gamma (IFNγ), koji je ključni posrednik u imunosnim reakcijama te se rabi u samim laboratorijskim pretragama za utvrđivanje razine stanične imunosti. Na kraju članka, istaknuta je važnost križne reaktivnosti limfocita T između različitih tipova koronavirusa te SARS-CoV-2 i njegovih varijanti Delta i Omikron. 

S obzirom na moguću pojavu drugih virusa, koji su u stanju mutirati te izbjeći imunosni odgovor brže od procesa razvoja specifičnih cjepiva za nove sojeve, moderna istraživanja su usmjerena prema cjepivima koja će ciljati razvoj kompetentnog staničnog odgovora.

Naime, pokazalo se da je stanični odgovor daleko dugotrajniji (izmjeren čak 17 godina nakon infekcije) od humoralnog još na primjeru infekcija SARS-CoV iz 2003 godine.

Jedan od najprestižnijih svjetskih znanstvenih časopisa iz područja imunologije Frontiers in Immunology objavio je rezultate istraživanja hrvatskih znanstvenika iz bolnice Sv. Katarina (Primorac D., Vrdoljak K., Brlek P., Pavelić E., Molnar V., Matišić V., Erceg Ivkošić I.) te iz Sveučilišne bolnice u Bonnu (Parčina M.), a koji opisuje važnost stanične imunosti u obrani od SARS-CoV-2.  

Frontiers in Immunology je služben časopis The International Union of Immunologican Societies (IUIS), u čijem radu sudjeluje 87 članica širom svijeta, sa više od 60.000 imunologa.

Tim znanstvenika predvođen prof.dr. Draganom Primorcem analizirao je sve segmente imunosnog odgovora ljudskog organizma nakon infekcije sa SARS-CoV-2, a rezultati imaju izniman značaj u razumijevanju konteksta obrane ljudskog organizma od infekcije.

Jedan od ciljeva rada je povezivanje bazičnih spoznaja imunologije s najnovijim saznanjima patofiziologije COVID-19.

Rad posebno ukazuje na važnu ulogu stanične imunosti posredovane limfocitima T u dugotrajnoj zaštiti od COVID-19 te se očekuje da će nadolazeća istraživanja u polju stanične imunološke obrane doprinijeti boljem javnozdravstvenom zbrinjavanju SARS-CoV-2 pandemije.

Uz navedemo, u radu se detaljno analizira cijela interakcija između virusa i čovjeka – od ulaska virusne čestice pa sve do razvijanja trajne imunosne memorije.

Različite skupine pacijenata

Znanstvenici su razmotrili imunosne procese koji se odvijaju i u sluznicama, na razini same stanice, pa sve do molekularnog pristupa do razine epigenetskih spoznaja.

Usporedili su odgovore između različitih skupina pacijenata – onih koji nikada nisu bili inficirani, preboljelih, cijepljenih te onih koji su preboljeli infekciju te su također cijepljeni.

Važne rezultate istraživanja provedenog unutar tih skupina tim znanstvenika iz Specijalne bolnice Sv. Katarina nedavno je objavio u švicarskom časopisu Vaccines te su njihovi rezultati pokazali da stanična imunost, za razliku od humoralne (titra protutijela), pruža dugotrajnu zaštitu od SARS-CoV-2 čak 20 mjeseci od inicijalne infekcije sa SARS-CoV-2 ili cijepljenja.

Naime, stanična imunost ključna je komponenta direktnog uništavanja stanica inficiranih SARS-CoV-2, ali i u orkestriranju cijelog imunološkog odgovora.

Na primjer, pomoćnički CD4+ limfociti imaju neizostavnu zadaću aktivacije limfocita B koji su ključne stanice za razvoj humoralne imunosti (proizvodnje protutijela).

Cjepiva za razvoj odgovora

Osim aktivacije, stanična imunost je nužna kako za sazrijevanje humoralne imunosti, tako i za njenu kompetenciju u obrani organizma te razvitak humoralne memorije – memorijskih limfocita B.

Članak opisuje i slučajeve u kojima je zapažen razvitak stanične imunosti bez formacije humoralnog odgovora nakon susreta s antigenom.

Štoviše, u tekstu se prezentira važnost interferona-gamma (IFNγ), koji je ključni posrednik u imunosnim reakcijama te se rabi u samim laboratorijskim pretragama za utvrđivanje razine stanične imunosti. Na kraju članka, istaknuta je važnost križne reaktivnosti limfocita T između različitih tipova koronavirusa te SARS-CoV-2 i njegovih varijanti Delta i Omikron. 

S obzirom na moguću pojavu drugih virusa, koji su u stanju mutirati te izbjeći imunosni odgovor brže od procesa razvoja specifičnih cjepiva za nove sojeve, moderna istraživanja su usmjerena prema cjepivima koja će ciljati razvoj kompetentnog staničnog odgovora.

Naime, pokazalo se da je stanični odgovor daleko dugotrajniji (izmjeren čak 17 godina nakon infekcije) od humoralnog još na primjeru infekcija SARS-CoV iz 2003 godine.
