Austrijski tenisač Dominic Thiem na kraju tekuće sezone oprostit će se od profesionalnog tenisa. Svojevremeno treći tenisač svijeta igračku bi karijeru trebao zaključiti u listopadu ove godine na turniru u Beču, doznaje austrijski portal Salzburger Nachrichten.

Thiem je vrhunac svoje karijere doživio u pandemijskoj 2020. godini, osvojivši US Open. Igrao je Thiem tada tenis karijere, očekivalo se od njega da će preuzeti konce teniskog trona nakon Nadala, Federera i Đokovića (protiv kojih je ostvario čak 16 pobjeda), međutim nakon osvojenog Grand Slama Thiem više nikad nije bio isti.

Danas 30-godišnjak u posljednje je četiri godine pretrpio nebrojeno puno ozljeda, a njegova karijera zauzela je putanju slobodnog pada iz kojeg se Thiem više nije uspio izdignuti. U međuvremenu se, osim fizičkih, suočavao i s mentalnim problemima, pokazivao je na trenutke bljeskove potencijala koji ga je krasio, no um i tijelo nikad više nije uspio vratiti na razinu prije osvojenog US Opena.

U karijeri je osvojio ukupno 17 titula, a igrao je finala Australian Opena i Roland Garrosa. Ostat će upamćen kao jedan od samo 11 tenisača koji su uspjeli pobijediti sve članove ‘Velike trojke‘. Bio je jedan od igrača na Touru kojeg su svi voljeli, između ostalog zbog svog lepršavog jednoručnog backhanda, tehnike koja sve više izumire u bijelom sportu.

Thiem je 2015. osvojio naslov u Umagu, a prije dva mjeseca zaigrao je na Challengeru u Zadru, gdje ga je u osmini finala izbacio sunarodnjak Lukas Neumayer.

Austrijski tenisač Dominic Thiem na kraju tekuće sezone oprostit će se od profesionalnog tenisa. Svojevremeno treći tenisač svijeta igračku bi karijeru trebao zaključiti u listopadu ove godine na turniru u Beču, doznaje austrijski portal Salzburger Nachrichten.

Thiem je vrhunac svoje karijere doživio u pandemijskoj 2020. godini, osvojivši US Open. Igrao je Thiem tada tenis karijere, očekivalo se od njega da će preuzeti konce teniskog trona nakon Nadala, Federera i Đokovića (protiv kojih je ostvario čak 16 pobjeda), međutim nakon osvojenog Grand Slama Thiem više nikad nije bio isti.

Danas 30-godišnjak u posljednje je četiri godine pretrpio nebrojeno puno ozljeda, a njegova karijera zauzela je putanju slobodnog pada iz kojeg se Thiem više nije uspio izdignuti. U međuvremenu se, osim fizičkih, suočavao i s mentalnim problemima, pokazivao je na trenutke bljeskove potencijala koji ga je krasio, no um i tijelo nikad više nije uspio vratiti na razinu prije osvojenog US Opena.

U karijeri je osvojio ukupno 17 titula, a igrao je finala Australian Opena i Roland Garrosa. Ostat će upamćen kao jedan od samo 11 tenisača koji su uspjeli pobijediti sve članove ‘Velike trojke‘. Bio je jedan od igrača na Touru kojeg su svi voljeli, između ostalog zbog svog lepršavog jednoručnog backhanda, tehnike koja sve više izumire u bijelom sportu.

Thiem je 2015. osvojio naslov u Umagu, a prije dva mjeseca zaigrao je na Challengeru u Zadru, gdje ga je u osmini finala izbacio sunarodnjak Lukas Neumayer.

Šok u svijetu tenisa: Osvajač US Opena koji je izluđivao ‘Veliku trojku‘ završava karijeru s 30 godina

Austrijski tenisač Dominic Thiem na kraju tekuće sezone oprostit će se od profesionalnog tenisa. Svojevremeno treći tenisač svijeta igračku bi karijeru trebao zaključiti u listopadu ove godine na turniru u Beču, doznaje austrijski portal Salzburger Nachrichten.

Thiem je vrhunac svoje karijere doživio u pandemijskoj 2020. godini, osvojivši US Open. Igrao je Thiem tada tenis karijere, očekivalo se od njega da će preuzeti konce teniskog trona nakon Nadala, Federera i Đokovića (protiv kojih je ostvario čak 16 pobjeda), međutim nakon osvojenog Grand Slama Thiem više nikad nije bio isti.

Danas 30-godišnjak u posljednje je četiri godine pretrpio nebrojeno puno ozljeda, a njegova karijera zauzela je putanju slobodnog pada iz kojeg se Thiem više nije uspio izdignuti. U međuvremenu se, osim fizičkih, suočavao i s mentalnim problemima, pokazivao je na trenutke bljeskove potencijala koji ga je krasio, no um i tijelo nikad više nije uspio vratiti na razinu prije osvojenog US Opena.

U karijeri je osvojio ukupno 17 titula, a igrao je finala Australian Opena i Roland Garrosa. Ostat će upamćen kao jedan od samo 11 tenisača koji su uspjeli pobijediti sve članove ‘Velike trojke‘. Bio je jedan od igrača na Touru kojeg su svi voljeli, između ostalog zbog svog lepršavog jednoručnog backhanda, tehnike koja sve više izumire u bijelom sportu.

Thiem je 2015. osvojio naslov u Umagu, a prije dva mjeseca zaigrao je na Challengeru u Zadru, gdje ga je u osmini finala izbacio sunarodnjak Lukas Neumayer.
